Georgia Southern University Armstrong’s campus has confirmed that a student was found deceased in a residence hall Monday evening. In an email to the community last night, GSU police stated that there was no threat to the residents of Compass Point Apartments, where the student was found, or the university community. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has been called in to investigate, and the student's body was taken to a crime lab in Pooler where the medical examiner will preform an autopsy.
WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta reported that GBI identified the 20-year-old student, but Savannah Morning News has yet to verify that information with GBI. Foul play is not suspected. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
