GREAT FALLS, Mont. – At Benefis Peace Hospice, Kimberly Romey is more than just a housekeeper. She is a source of comfort and care for patients and their families.

Romey, who is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the hospice, is known for her personal connections with patients. "My job is to take care of this place. I clean the whole building, bathrooms, patient rooms.

I sit and I visit with patients. If there's something that's not health care wise that I can get them, I'll get them," Romey stated. Her dedication goes beyond her job description.

"It's good to be here for people that, you know, this is their last stay, and to make them comfortable and to make them happy and to do things for them; it's very rewarding," she said. Latoya Reovan, the director of Benefis Peace Hospice, witnesses Romey's commitment daily. "Kim is passionate about providing the best sterile, clean environment that she possibly can," Realvan said.

"She takes pride in what she does. She does it with a smile on her face and she comes to work excited." Romey’s impact extends to building deep relationships with families during sensitive times.

Rayn Ginnaty, president of Benefis Hospitals, noted, "She is responsible for cleaning that space, but she takes that another step as she forms lasting relationships and really has an opportunity to bond with families during very fragile times in their care." Romey humbly shared, "I didn’t think I was doing anything to be recognized for. I was just doing my job.

” But for her, it's more than just work. "Because to me, this isn't just my job. I love being here.

I love this building. I love the people I work with. It's something.

.. It's just rewarding.

And, you know, I work six days a week, and I do that because I love being here." She captures the essence of her role, saying, "The name says it all. I mean, this place is extremely peaceful.

.. If I was in the position where I was knowing I was going to go and I only had such an allotted amount of time, this is where I would want to be.
