Amazon Prime viewers are just finishing the latest series of The Wheel of Time and haven't held back in praising the show. The third instalment of the epic fantasy series dropped on the streaming service last month and fans are already begging for a fourth season. The first series of Wheel of Time landed on Amazon Prime in 2021, with an ensemble cast led by Rosamund Pike, who stars as titular character Moiraine Damodred, a member of a powerful organisation of women called the Aes Sedai.
Based on the novels of the same name by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, the series follows Moiraine as she seeks out four young people, believing one of them is the reincarnation of the Dragon. The Dragon Reborn is prophesied to either save the world from an evil known as the Dark One. Pike is joined by Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden and Josha Stradowski.
In addition to the familiar faces from the first two seasons, a host of new actors joined the cast for series three, including Isabella Bucceri, Nukaka Coster-Waldau, Salome Gunnarsdottir, Bjorn Landberg and Synnve Macody Lund. The synopsis for series three says: "As the ties to his past begin to unravel, and his corrupted power grows stronger, Rand becomes increasingly unrecognizable to his closest allies, Moiraine and Egwene." "These powerful women, who started the series as teacher and student, must now work together to prevent the Dragon from turning to the Dark.
..no matter the cost.
" The third instalment features eight hour-long episodes, maintaining the format of the two previous seasons. The Wheel of Time has been awarded an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans now begging for a renewal since concluding the third series. Praising the show on social media, one declared: "Wheel of Time obviously 1000% since it’s the best series and the best in general on prime and basically every streaming platform there is.
" A second agreed: "The Wheel Of Time season 3 is some of the greatest television ever made. Jordan would be proud. Please make a S4.
" Echoing this, another posted: "Season 3 isn’t just good - it’s magic. From 81% in S1 to 97% on rotten tomatoes in s3, the storytelling is fun, the character arcs are bolder. We the fans are more locked in than ever, Amazon the show is peaking, don’t disappoint us.
Renew Wheel of Time." A fourth demanded: "The wheel turns and the pattern weaves as it will , but Amazon if you’re seeing this - this is your sign. It’s time to renew the wheel of time season 4.
" Praising the final episode of series three, another penned: "Well geez last night while I watched the Wheel of Time season 3 finale - I won't say why-why for spoilers reasons unless you really wanna know, but damn was I crying.".
