Ground Zero deserves to be watched as a tribute to the unsung hero BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey

The action-thriller has been grabbing the headlines from teaser to trailer for all the right reasons. While the promotional material has garnered great appreciation among the audience, does it live to the cinegoers’ expectations? Let’s find out.

.. Based on the life of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey (Emraan Hashmi), the story is set in Srinagar in 2001, where the terrorists attacking one soldier at a time by hitting a bullet from behind.



The mastermind behind this pistol gang is the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Rana Tahir Nadeem aka Ghazi Baba. Because of this gang, over 70 jawans are killed and Narendra along with his officers tries to crack the code of the militant group, who are behind the local attacks but Ghazi and his gang are always one step ahead. The Jaish-e-Mohammed chief executes attacks in Delhi and Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat followed by Kashmir, where he kills Hussain, a teenager, who is an informer and close aid of Narendra.

As Narendra holds himself guilty behind Hussain’s killing and attacks from terrorists, in a heated argument with his senior, he asks for transfer. So, will he move to Indore or stay in Kashmir and plan an execution to eliminate Ghazi Baba? Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar’s directorial is a no-nonsense thriller that hits the chord right from its first frame. The filmmaker makes an engaging action-thriller, which is masterfully crafted through its compelling storytelling.

There are scenes, which are raw, intense and will leave you teary-eyed. Talking about the star performances, Emraan Hashmi has once again shown his acting mettle by delivering a nuanced performance as BSF officer. Abhay Dheeraj Singh, Lalit Prabhakar and Deepak Parmesh are superb as Narendra’s BSF colleagues.

Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain makes impact in their brief roles with memorable acts. On the whole, Ground Zero deserves to be watched as a tribute to the unsung hero BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. Rating: 3 (out of 5 stars) Ground Zero is playing in cinemas.
