Sorry you had to find out this way, but Famous’ death has changed Raising Kanan for good. How did he die and who’s responsible?

If you’re currently watching Season 4, you’re likely still reeling from Famous’ shocking death. With his killer still unknown, how did he die in Raising Kanan, and who’s looking suspicious? If you ever watched 2014 show Power starring 50 Cent , Power Book III: Raising Kanan is the perfect prequel. Set in the 1990s, Raq runs the streets of Southside Jamaica, Queens, with her brothers, Marvin and Lou-Lou.

Kanan is her son, desperately trying to get out of Raq’s shadow to make a name for himself. Sadly for him (but luckily for us), making a name for yourself in the drug business comes with a lot of danger. In Season 4, Famous finds this out the hard way – he’s now met his maker, with fans still left wondering who his killer might be.

The binge-worthy TV show is playing with fire by killing off a fan favorite character, and the build-up to the reveal has been the most intense yet. But how did Famous die in Raising Kanan, and who’s the most likely suspect behind it? How did Famous die in Raising Kanan? While details are still sketchy, we know someone tortured then murdered Famous, and afterwards, took his body to an abandoned house in Mott Haven and put it underneath a mattress . However, we’re still not completely sure when this actually happened.

After his arrest, Famous decided to assist the police in the investigation of Detective Malcolm Howard’s death and turn himself in. He was then considered missing for the next three months, with his body eventually being found by a child and a bodega owner. She went to all the people she would think to talk to about her son going missing, which was around the same time his body was found in the alleyway. “This was an incredible journey from the very beginning. I was blessed to be given this opportunity.

I was able to work with some of the most amazing people on an amazing project for an amazing period of time. They say film is forever so I say add FAMOUS to the history books,” actor Antonio Ortiz wrote on Instagram. “To the fans that love the show and the character I love all y’all right back this wouldn’t be possible without you.

Thank you so much for showing me I made an impact on the show, enough at least for yall to miss me. Trust and believe I’ll be missing y’all right back, Forever Famous.” There are four obvious suspects for who killed him If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll we’ve got four main suspects in the frame – Marvin, Unique, Raq, and Kanan himself.

Out of everyone in the Raising Kanan cast, Marvin is the favorite to have killed Famous. Why? He’s one of the only people to have some idea of what happened to Famous before his death is revealed. We’d already seen Marvin plant the seed in Kanan’s head that Famous may “never return from where he had gone” earlier in Season 4, so does this mean he had a hand in what happened? There’s also another working theory – each of Kanan’s family members has taken something from it, so it makes sense that Marvin would do the same.

Raq killed Howard, Lou killed D-wiz, and Juke killed Krystal, so what’s a few more names to the list? Unique would be the next most obvious choice. He wants the Thomas crime family to fall and is willing to take out anyone associated with them..

. which includes Famous. Nailing Famous would mean the Thomas’ suffered a significant loss, pushing Unique further up the ranks as a result.

He’s back to being Raq’s rival again – having started as her rival, then becoming her lover, and then moving back – so Unique’s as big of a target as there can be. Could Raq have put out a hit on Famous? It’s possible. If she thought he knew too much about the family’s dirty laundry and needed silencing, she’s got as much motive as anyone else does.

However, even if she wanted him dead, it’s more likely that someone killed Famous on Raq’s behalf. This means the actual person pulling the trigger would either be one of her brothers or one of the many who work for her. Our wildcard guess is Kanan.

According to the last few episodes of Season 4, he’s only just found out that Famous is dead, but it’s not too much of a stretch to think this could be a red herring. If Kanan really does want to rise through the kingpin ranks, some hands have gotta get dirty in the process. If we think about the themes of Season 4 episodes, the finale could be gearing up for the reveal Kanan was behind the crime all along.

To be ruthless, he has to be tested, and there’s no bigger test than destroying someone close to you. For more, check out new TV shows streaming this month, the best TV shows of the year so far, and anticipated 2025 releases you cannot miss..
