Although the Falmouth Academy girls lacrosse team fell to Monomoy on Tuesday, the Mariners still had reason to smile.In the 16-8 defeat, Falmouth Academy's Faye McGuire scored the 100th goal of her career.The Sharks (7-1) beat the Mariners (2-5) for their fourth win in a row.

McGuire had five goals, and her second was her career 100th.McGuire is a three-sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, and an all-league performer in all three.Also in high school sports action:Girls LacrosseNauset 11, Barnstable 10: The Warriors (4-4) beat the Red Hawks (3-6) for their third straight win.



Julia Kipperman (four goals), Zoe Labdon (four goals), Abby Powers (two goals), and Meg Sullivan (one goal) provided the scoring for the Warriors.For the Red Hawks, Claire Kayajan (one goal, two assists), Emelie Jonsson (five goals, one assist), Caroline Meins (two goals), Brenna Mullin (one goal), and Gigi De Toledo (one goal, one assist) accounted for the scoring. Brenna Mullin (10 saves) and Morgan Mueller (six saves) stood out in net.

Boys LacrosseFalmouth 13, Martha’s Vineyard 3: The Clippers (6-3) beat the Vineyarders (5-5) for their second win in their last three games.Nauset 16, Barnstable 6: The Warriors (6-4) topped the Red Hawks (4-4) for their third win in their last four games.Softball Nauset 21, St.

Leading the way at the plate for the Clippers were Kaylee Shaw (3-for-3, a triple, double, two runs scored, six RBIs), Christina Femino (3-for-4, three runs), Molly Belfiore (3-for-4, two runs, three RBIs), Tenley Briggs (3-for-4, one run, four RBIs), and Ellie Bennett (2-for-2, three runs, one RBI).As a pitcher, Bennett went five innings, with four hits and six strikeouts.

Sturgis 33, Mashpee 9: The Storm (6-2) beat the Falcons (0-8) for their second win in a row. For the Storm, Ryley Mayo went 3-for-6 with a double, triple, three runs scored and six RBIs. Molly Reino went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

Girls Tennis Bourne 5, Dighton-Rehoboth 0: The Canalmen (3-6) won their second straight.At first singles, Bourne's Ainsley Hopwood beat Emma Mullen (6-1, 6-2). At second singles, Bourne's McKinley Wenzel beat Cailee Leonard (6-2, 6-2).

At third singles, Bourne's Zoe Noonan beat Aubrey Harris (6-2, 6-3).At first doubles, Bourne's Lily Russell and Sofia Halunen beat Laura Cruz and Isabella Pettine (6-0, 6-2). At second doubles, Bourne's Addie Dion and Ella Swierkowski beat Corina Pettine and Voctoria Czech (6-0, 6-2).

Cohasset 4, Sandwich 1: The Blue Knights (5-5) lost their second straight. At second doubles, Sandwich's Lauren Meyer and Izzie Bar beat Teagan Bridge and Katie Kenealy (6-4, 6-0).Boys Tennis Monomoy 5, Nantucket 0: The Sharks (8-1) beat the Whalers (2-5) for their fifth straight victory.

At first singles, Monomoy's Roman Pavluchenko defeated Nick Krastev (6-4, 6-3). At second singles, Monomoy's Ryan Casey defeated Boyan Kalpazonov (6-4, 6-2). At third singles, Monomoy's Zach Shields defeated Knox Keating, 8-4.

At first doubles, Monomoy's Patrick McMahon and Blake Noonan defeated Forbes Keating and Sawyer Holland (6-4, 6-1).
