In a video that has now gone viral, French YouTuber Victor Blaho shared his ordeal of travelling in a train in India for 46 hours which left him disappointed and in ‘despair’

When Victor Blaho, a French YouTuber known for documenting his travels across India, boarded a train in Mumbai, he expected an adventure across the country’s vast railway network. Much like other foreign nationals looking to document India’s diversity, he thought travelling in a train would be good fun. What he didn’t expect was an experience so intense that it left him emotionally drained and publicly declaring, “I just want to go home.

” In the video titled “DO NOT Attempt A 46H Train Journey In India – It BROKE ME!” Blaho documents his route starting in Mumbai, with stops in Varanasi and Agra and ending in Delhi. Hoping for adventure, he instead encountered sleepless nights, cramped spaces, and moments of deep discomfort. “There’s noise, there’s dirt, and there’s constant chaos,” he said in the vlog, visibly drained.

“I just want to go home.” Throughout the journey, Blaho traveled in sleeper class and third AC compartments—modes of travel that offer a more local, less insulated experience. His footage captures tightly packed coaches, passengers chatting through the night, and a near-constant buzz of activity.

For the French traveler, the combination proved too intense. “I couldn’t sleep. I was scared.

And the smell was suffocating,” he shared, showing clips of trash-strewn floors and scenes of a rat darting across the aisle, followed by a cockroach. One co-passenger, he recounted, insisted on lengthy conversations and even roped him into speaking on video calls with two women. “He said he had a girlfriend in Mumbai and another in Delhi,” Blaho said.

“And he made me talk to both.” In sync with the experience of many international travellers in India, Blaho was also approached by numerous passengers keen to take photos with him or talk to him. At one point, after finally getting some space, Blaho filmed himself saying, “It’s been three weeks in India.

I want to go home now...

I need peace, I need quiet, I need a clean bed.” On Instagram, Blaho echoed his YouTube sentiments: “46 hours on the lowest train classes across India..

. my main emotions? Despair & borderline insanity,” he wrote. “No, I don’t enjoy suffering—learn from my mistakes: if you’ve got the budget, book the highest class possible.

” The video has sparked a wide range of reactions online. Some viewers expressed empathy, admitting that such long journeys can be tough even for locals, let alone foreign travellers whose expectations are quite different. Others, however, felt Blaho exaggerated or lacked the cultural context to appreciate Indian rail travel in its raw form.
