Bradley Walsh has crossed paths with thousands of contestants since becoming the presenter of The Chase in 2009.

Since becoming the presenter of The Chase in 2009, Bradley Walsh has introduced thousands of hopefuls to the challenge of outwitting the Chasers' vast knowledge in order to walk away with a hefty cash prize. A previous contestant who appeared on The Chase in 2016 took to social media to spill backstage secrets from their time on the show. Eager to satisfy fans' curiosity, the contestant told fans to ask him anything they wanted.

One eagle-eyed observer questioned whether Bradley, 64, is "as nice as he seems", prompting the contestant to share what he really thought about the presenter. They said: "The way I’ve described him is, he is lovely, friendly, chatty etc but in a way that’s been crafted to perfection from years of doing game shows. I have no doubt he forgot my name as soon as we left the studio.

But still, a nice guy." They also revealed what happens once a contestant is knocked out by a chaser. Eliminated contestants experience the sting of defeat as they are relegated to watching from the sidelines while their teammates play to win thousands of pounds.

A curious user inquired: "When you've been caught in the head-to-head part, does the show allow you to stick around so you can see your fellow team performing the final chase?". To which the former contestant replied: "Yeah, you go sit with the crew and watch from the sidelines." Commenting on the harshness of this arrangement, another person remarked: "Tbh if I was the only one knocked out, I'd be pretty upset if the other three won big.

" The conversation even turned to the strategy behind keeping contestants in the studio, with a fellow Reddit user theorizing that it could be for the potential of a Lazarus Team scenario. In the event all four players are knocked out in the head-to-head, one player may be brought back to face the chaser alone in the final chase, with the others observing. If victorious, each team member receives £1,000.

The ex-contestant disclosed: "I mean arguably they could just fetch us back from the green room if that were to happen but no, I was sat over by the adjudicator sort of off to the right of where the chaser sits.".
