We reject your ministries. You will have to accept our demands: Bilawal. HYDERABAD - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday warned that his party would part ways with the ruling coalition led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) if the federal government failed to address its serious reservations over the controversial canals project.
“The federal government must immediately roll back its controversial canal project, otherwise the PPP can-not work with you [Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz],” the PPP chief said while addressing a public gather-ing in Hyderabad. Bilawal said that his party was the only political force to have opposed these projects from day one, asking the government to abandon the canal project as he would not leave the nation’s side. Our Jihad to uproot terrorism from country will continue: PM The PPP leader further said that that the projects are being imposed from Islamabad, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was “still unwilling to budge, and we are not ready to step back either”.
“If the choice is between Shehbaz Sharif and the people, the decision is not difficult,” he warned. He noted that the nation is burning in the fire of terrorism, and “you [federal government] sparked a debate that pits broth-er against brother.” “Those sitting in Islamabad are blind and deaf — unwilling to see or hear the voices of the provinces.
We are opposing these projects on the basis of principles because the federation is under threat. “What’s the reason behind your stubbornness. We want Pakistan to develop and federation is strengthened but we cannot back off from our principles,” he added.

” Lashing out at the PML-N, Bilawal said, “These so-called ‘lions’ are sucking the blood of the people. Every PML-N project is against farmers.” He also stressed employing modern technology such as bio-saline agriculture, already being applied in Tharparkar, to address the canal issue.
Addressing a public meeting here on Friday evening Bilawal said he was not opposed to initiating agricul-tural projects in Cholistan and Tharparkar deserts but the two regions could not be provided water from the Indus River as all provinces in the country were already dealing with water shortage. He observed that an independent candidate supported by 17 parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and other parties contested against the PPP’s candidate but still they won the bye-elections alone. According to Bilawal, their victory had washed away all the propaganda which was being spread against the PPP and its leadership by their political opponents in Sindh. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, PPP Sindh’s President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and other leaders of the party also spoke.

She reaffirmed PPP’s stanch opposition to the project, noting that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has already issued a firm warning to the federal authorities over this controversial proposal. “Chairman Bilawal will raise this critical issue during his address at a major public rally in Hyderabad to-day,” she added. Marri accused the PML-N government of provoking public outrage by toying with a matter as sensitive as water.
