Amit Mishra has denied reports that claim his wife has filed a complaint against him alleging domestic violence. India cricketer Amit Mishra has denied reports circulating in the media alleging his wife has filed a case of domestic violence and dowry harassment against him and his family. Various media outlets have reported that Mishra’s wife has claimed a compensation of Rs 1 crore in her complaint besides alleging that the cricketer’s family had also demanded Rs 10 lakh and a car during their wedding.
However, Mishra, a legspinner who has played 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 T20Is for India, has threatened legal action against the erring publications for using his name and image in ‘unrelated stories’. “I’m extremely disappointed by what’s being circulated in the media," Mishra wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I’ve always respected the press, but while the news itself may be accurate, the photograph used is mine—which is completely incorrect.
Using my image for unrelated stories must stop immediately, or I will be forced to take legal action." The 42-year-old has taken 156 wickets in international cricket besides scoring four half-centuries as well. He played domestic cricket for Haryana and Chandigarh.
He also played for four different IPL franchises including the now defunct Deccan Chargers, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He took 174 wickets in 162 matches at an economy of 7.37.
