The massacre of about 26 people, most of them tourists, in Pahalgam, Kashmir, by Islamist terrorists has jolted the conscience of India and the entire world. It is a tragic reminder of the constant threat of terrorism, which strikes without warning at innocent civilians. The mind-numbing reports of the attackers identifying victims by religion before executing them at close range marks a new low in the history of humanity.
Prominent leaders, be it politicians or actors, have publicly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences.

In a statement shared by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country extended its support to India, “UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability in contravention of international law.” Meanwhile, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also wrote on X, “Israel stands united with India in the fight against terror.
” Gunmen killed at least 26 people and injured at least 17 others in the disputed Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, a rare assault on tourists in an area fraught by decades of insurgency and opposition to India’s rule. The devastating massacre targeted sightseers in a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, in the mountainous Anantnag district, and is the region’s worst assault on civilians in years, since the deadliest Pulwama strike in 2019. Gunmen reportedly asked the victims about their religion, demanded they recite the Kalma, an Islamic declaration of faith.
