LAHORE - Reacting to the Modi government’s statements after the killings of tourists in Pahalgam in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the World Islamic Organisation (WIO) on Friday expressed full confidence in the decisions of the National Security Committee (NSC) saying that the decisions of the committee are very important and timely for the protection of the country’s security, sovereignty and national interests. WIO President Dr Sheikh Mazhar Shaffi said that India has once again resorted to unfounded accusations against Pakistan in a bid to gain international sympathy. He strongly condemned New Delhi’s continuous campaign to defame Pakistan through baseless propaganda.
Dr Shaffi while presiding over a special session of Ulama-e-Haq Think Tank called for dialogue to resolve disputes but reiterated readiness to defend Pakistan’s interests at all costs. In a joint press statement issued here after an emergency meeting, Dr Sheikh Mazhar Shaffi, Qazi Mohammad Younus Anwar, Maulana Dr Sarfaraz Ahmad Awan, Hafiz Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Prof Saeedur Rehman Tahir, Dr Shamasur Arfeen, Dr Azizur Rehman Arain and Hafiz Azizur Rehman strongly condemned what they termed “irresponsible actions” by India, reaffirming their trust in the Pakistan military’s capability to safeguard country’s sovereignty. They also highlighted the Armed Forces’ sacrifices in ensuring regional stability and praised the government’s diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.
They also pledged to contribute resources, if needed, to bolster defense initiatives, reflecting a proactive commitment to the nation’s safety..
