Emmerdale fans believe they've deciphered the enigma surrounding Mackenzie Boyd's flashforward, and it has no connection to John Sugden. The ITV soap offered several peeks into 2025 during New Year. These included a scene of Caleb Miligan (William Ash) battling for his life in hospital and a chilling clip of someone trapped under a frozen lake.
Another flashforward showed a terrified fan favourite, Mack (Lawrence Robb), sprinting through the woods. Three of these future glimpses have already been broadcast - including Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) stuck under the ice and John Sugden's (Oliver Farnworth) disposal of Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) body bag into the lake. Now, viewers are convinced that Mack's flashforward is about to be aired as they deduce who he is fleeing from - and it's not John Sugden, reports Leicestershire Live .
This week on the soap, Mack began probing into John's history, certain that he was concealing something. As fans know, Mack's hunch is right, with John being responsible for Nate's demise. In Wednesday's episode (April 23), Mack crossed paths with John's old army friend Connor, leading him to discover that John had been deceiving everyone about his past, and that his former lover Aidan Moore is actually alive.
Mack promptly confronted John and vowed to prevent him from marrying Aaron (Danny Miller), leaving John irate. And now, while some fans speculate that Mack is fleeing from John in the flashforward, others suggest it's unrelated. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: "So is Mack running from John in the flashforward?".
Another fan offered a different theory: "Putting it out there but I actually don't think it's to do with John. Perhaps Mack sees Nate's body in the lake and that's why he's running?". A third concurred: "Same here, the whole John and Mack feud could be a red herring.
" Yet another commented: "Yeah I doubt Mackenzie would be running scared from John he doesn't seem scared of him.".
