Sunny Deol's film Jaat slows at the box office, earning Rs 1.86 crore on Day 12, totaling Rs 76.26 crore.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, it aims for Rs 100 crore amid Kesari 2 competition. After a solid start and a string of big days at the box office, Jaat seems to be slowing down a bit. On Day 12, Sunny Deol’s action-packed film recorded its lowest single-day earnings so far.
While it’s still holding on, this dip has definitely raised concerns as the film inches closer to that Rs 100 crore milestone. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which hit theatres on April 10, brought in around Rs 1.86 crore on its 12th day.
In total, Jaat has racked up Rs 76.26 crore net at the Indian box office. On Monday, Jaat saw an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.
36 per cent. The film had its highest number of shows and best occupancy in Jaipur, followed by Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Ahmedabad. Jaat is now eyeing the Rs 100 crore mark! If it continues this strong run, the film could reach that milestone within a week.
But with Kesari 2 entering the ring, it’ll be interesting to see how Jaat holds its ground in the days ahead. Jaat is an action-packed thriller written and directed by Gopichand Malineni—marking his big Bollywood debut. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, and stars Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in full force, with a solid supporting cast that includes Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P.
Ravi Shankar, and Babloo Prithiveeraj. The story follows Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh, a.k.
a. “Jaat," who’s on a train journey from Chennai to Ayodhya. But when the train is forced to stop near a small village close to Chirala, things take a wild turn.
What was meant to be a quick food break turns into a full-blown face-off with Ranatunga, aka Muthuvel Karikalan, a former commander of the Jaffna Tiger Force who now controls the village like a dictator, with help from some shady local cops. As Jaat spends more time in the village, he sees the fear and pain in the eyes of the people. He can’t just watch and do nothing so he decides to fight back.
What follows is a gripping clash between a fearless brigadier and a brutal warlord, with the village caught in the middle. A part of Jaat’s review by News18 read, “Action fans can rejoice because this is one film that delivers every dhishoom-dhishoom fantasy you’ve had since the ’90s. The punches land, the enemies fly, and the background score screams intense.
The rising tension and explosive clash between Jaat and Rana Thunga fuels pure adrenaline. The thunderous background score and bone-crunching action sequences demand your full attention.".
