Jaat features Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles. It is directed by Gopichand Malineni. Sunny Deol’s actioner Jaat kicked off with a bang at the domestic box office, earning Rs 9.
5 crore on Day 1 and leaving audiences amazed by the power-packed performances of the cast and gritty action sequences. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film had fans flooding the theatres since its release on April 10. But following a smashing first week, Jaat seems to have lost the initial momentum.
On Day 15, i.e., Thursday, April 24, the action-packed entertainer managed to earn only Rs 1.
25 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. The figures are slightly lower than Jaat’s Day 14 collection, which was Rs 1.35 crore.
With this, Sunny Deol’s actioner has earned a total of Rs 80.75 crore net at the domestic box office and a whopping Rs 107 crore worldwide, making it his second-highest grossing film. Jaat trails only Gadar 2, Sunny Deol’s 2023 blockbuster movie co-starring Ameesha Patel.
It is worth noting that the Gopichand Malineni-directed film saw a Hindi occupancy rate of 7.9 per cent on Thursday. The reason behind Jaat’s slowing collection is due to fierce competition from Akshay Kumar’s recently released period drama, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh.
On Thursday, the period drama earned Rs 3.45 crore, bringing its net domestic collection to Rs 46.05 crore and its worldwide total to Rs 70.
7 crore. Sunny Deol’s film found itself in the middle of the box office battlefield in its second week upon the release of Akshay Kumar’s film on April 18. Despite the clash, the film has still managed to rake in money.
If Jaat continues to maintain a stronghold of the box office numbers, it might soon enter the Rs 100-crore club in India. Jaat is an action-packed thriller directed by Gopichand Malineni—marking his big Bollywood debut. He co-wrote the film with Saurabh Gupta.
The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, stars Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in the lead. The supporting cast includes Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
The story revolves around Baldev Pratap Singh (Sunny Deol), who uncovers crimes in a fictional town plagued by brutality and injustice. He clashes with Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda) and restores justice with the help of authorities..
