Spring is currently spring-ing in New York City, and Jennifer Lawrence is taking full advantage of the beautiful weather. This morning, the Oscar-winning actor was spotted taking a jaunty neighborhood stroll with a friend. The sun was out—and so was her stylish outfit.
Lawrence, after all, never steps out in the Big Apple without a casual-cool look . This time, however, proved particularly interesting—mainly due to her choice of accessories. Her printed red robe coat (vintage?) was chic enough, but her Shania Twain hat truly stole the show.
(Someone is a fan of “Feel Like a Woman!”) Equally as worthy of the spotlight were her shoes, which also tap into one of the most unexpected trends of the season. The star wore a pair of sneakerinas —a new hybrid style that is half sneaker, half ballet flat. The freaky shoe—a Frankeshoe, if you will—has gained momentum thanks to brands like Wales Bonner, Simone Rocha, and Louis Vuitton.
It’s certainly easy to understand the appeal of them: The flats offer the refinement and sleekness of a ballet flat, with the comfort and versatility of a sneaker sole. Lawrence chose a rubber-sole style with a Mary Jan-like elastic strap. They’re far more interesting than your standard, say, Sambas or Speedcats.
So, if you ask us, the trend has legs—especially if they are now J.Law approved..
