Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy expressed how heartbroken he was after learning of the car attack on a Filipino Festival in Vancouver, Canada.On Saturday, April 26, Filipinos in Canada celebrated the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver's Sunset on Fraser neighborhood. Just as the event was about to end at 8 p.

m., a black SUV reportedly rammed into the street festival, ending 11 lives and injuring many.In a statement he posted on Facebook, Jo Koy expressed how heartbroken he was about what happened at the said Filipino Festival.



“This is supposed to be an event that honors and celebrates our beautiful culture, and now we're mourning the loss of 11 lives that were taken too soon. My heart goes out to everyone that was affected by this horrific event. Mahal kita [heart emoji, Philippine flag emoji,” the comedian wrote.

Netizens, meanwhile, expressed their condolences and their sadness for what happened at the Filipino Festival.Aside from Jo Koy, American rapper and Black Eyed Peas member Apl.De.

Ap, who was there together with Filipino-American singer J-Rey Soul as performers, expressed his heartbreak for the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the tragedy.In an Instagram post, Apl shared that he and J-Rey just finished their performance and left the stage minutes before it happened. The American rapper admitted how hard it is to describe the shock and heaviness both he and J-Rey felt.
