Judith Eleanor Pratt, 86, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. Born on March 21, 1939, in Hudson Falls, N.Y.
, she was the daughter of the late Darwin and Mildred (Lynes) Pratt. Judith led a life rooted in compassion, service, and faith. A 1956 graduate of Hudson Falls School, she went on to earn her nursing degree from Plattsburgh State University.
She devoted over three decades to nursing, serving primarily in the Snuggery Unit at Glens Falls Hospital before concluding her career with two years in the Mental Health Unit. Her deep faith called her to ministry later in life. Judith pursued her Master of Divinity at Andover Newton Theological School and was ordained as a Baptist Reverend.
She began her pastoral work at the Second Baptist Church of East Providence, R.I., where she spent nine meaningful years and met her late husband, Douglas Wilson.
For the next 30 years, she served as an interim minister, providing spiritual leadership to numerous Baptist congregations, concluding her ministry at the First Baptist Church of Saratoga. Judith had a lifelong love of literature and took great joy in reading. Her generous spirit also extended beyond her local community, including a mission trip to Haiti where she helped build and establish a parish.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, John Oser, Katie Coons (Brian) and Stephen Griffin (Cheri); her stepchildren, Susanne Wilson (Ron) and David Wilson (Donna); her brother, John Pratt (Patricia); sisters-in-law, Jayne Pratt and Julie Pratt; and many cherished nieces and nephews, including Jeff, Mike, Chris, Jolene, Jarrod, Jason, Sarah, James and Ian; along with several great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Cassandra and Courtney, who brought her great joy and with whom she shared countless moments over tea and books. Judith was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Stephen Griffin; her late husband, Douglas Wilson; and her brothers, Timothy and Daniel Pratt.
Per the family’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or immediate services. A Celebration of life will be held on May 26, 2025, at 2 p.m.
at The Old Barn at Snook Kill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judith’s memory to The Open Door Misson, Glens Falls, N.Y.
