LAHORE - Following its two-day Central Council meeting which concluded here in Lahore on Monday, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has announced to continue its political struggle independently rejecting participation in any formal political alliance. The official communique issued after the meeting, chaired by party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stated that JUI-F will not formally join any political coalition, although it remains open to strategic collaboration on shared issues with other religious and parliamentary opposition parties. The party reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, announcing a series of “Shaheed-e-Gaza Million Marches” to be held across the country.
The first rally will be held on April 27 in Lahore, followed by such events on May 11 in Peshawar and on May 15 in Quetta. JUI-F also called on the public to contribute financially to support the people of Gaza during these challenging times. Strong condemnation was directed at the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
The party declared that state institutions have failed to ensure the safety of citizens, and accused the central and provincial governments—formed through alleged electoral fraud—of being completely ineffective in resolving public issues. A major outcome of the meeting was the categorical rejection of the controversial Mines and Minerals Bill.
The party announced that show-cause notices will be issued to members of the Balochistan Assembly who voted in favor of the bill, demanding formal explanations for their actions.
