Kelvin Fletcher bowed out of showbiz several years ago for a quieter life on a Cheshire farm close to the Peak District National Park. The ex- Emmerdale actor's decision came after winning the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside pro partner Oti Mabuse - and while he still has a passion for driving racing cars, he's currently embracing a slower pace of life. Fans loved the first two series of Fletcher's Family Farm - and now Kelvin has alluded to the show returning to ITV in his latest social media announcement.
Thousands had hit the like button on previous trailers, which featured him, his wife Liz and their four kids interacting with sheep, pigs cows, goats and chickens. Fans were devastated in February when Liz announced "it's a wrap" and the show's hiatus was confirmed, but now - fresh into lambing season - the family have teased that the upcoming next season is "GOOOOOO". A post shared by Fletcher Family (@fletchersonthefarm) They teased the return alongside footage of a newborn baby lamb with its mother - and fans are ecstatic.
"Just the loveliest programme, story, lifestyle...
absolute joy/hats off to you all for following your dreams - and having the courage and determination to do it!!" wrote one follower. "Yes!!! I loved series 1&2, I heard series 3 wasn’t happening so this is great news. Love everything that you all do on the farm," a second chimed in.
A third shared: "I love watching you, you should be so proud of yourselves, fabulous farmers and parents. A joy to watch, some other celebrity parents should take a leaf out of your book, raising your children brilliantly x." Kelvin and Liz have four kids together - Marnie, Milo and twins Maximus and Mateusz - and they're ever-present in the series, where they can be seen loving the rural lifestyle and getting involved in some of the tasks, such as herding the sheep.
In one trailer, a proud Kelvin had addressed his lifestyle choice, declaring: "I honestly believe it's my calling after three years", although Liz reminded him that the list of jobs for a farmer is "never-ending". The announcement comes after the pair released their own book, Fletchers On The Farm: Mud, Mayhem and Madness. Kelvin has also just launched his own podcast dedicated to the world of soaps, and examining storylines from two he's been in himself - Coronation Street and Emmerdale .
He spent two decades on the latter soap, and while that lifestyle is part of his past, he now interviews the ITV show's current actors for Off Script, adding to the opportunities fans have to engage with him..
