Kerry Washington is turning into an action star with her new movie Shadow Force ! The 48-year-old actress stepped out for a screening of her new action film during the 2025 Atlanta Film Festival on Sunday night (April 27) at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Ga. Kerry was honored with the 2025 Ossie Davis Award for Innovation in Filmmaking at the event. In a recent interview, Kerry talked about making an action movie.
“I just threw myself into it with as much commitment and fearlessness as possible,” she told EUR . “It was really fun to dive into this new world of weapons training and action. People don’t realize the amount of hours it takes just to be able to put a weapon together and take it apart without looking, like it’s second nature.
” About the movie, Kerry said, “It’s a big, splashy action adventure. But it’s really a story about family and love. This Black couple that love each other and their child so much that they’ll go to the ends of the earth to protect them.
