Kesari Chapter 2 released in theatres on April 18 with zero cuts. Despite the violence and use of ‘F**k You, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not object. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, director Karan Singh Tyagi said the CBFC understood the intention behind the profanity.
Karan Singh Tyagi on zero cuts for Kesari 2 Enjoying the success of Kesari Chapter 2, Karan told us, “We wanted to highlight the tragedy, so those visuals of the massacre were important for us. We wanted the audience to feel the pain that people at Jallianwala Bagh endured. We wanted to have those visuals.
” He added, “As far as the ‘F’ word is concerned, Sankaran Nair goli nahi chala paya isiliye gaali di. Here's What He Has To Say | Exclusive Thanking the CBFC for clearing Kesari Chapter 2 without cuts, Karan shared, “I am happy that the censor board asked for no cuts and understood the intent behind those visuals and the intent behind the ‘F’ word and passed the film.
” When asked if the A certificate restricted Kesari Chapter 2’s reach among minors, Karan said, “This is my personal opinion. With all humility and respect to the censor board, I want my film to reach maximum people in this country as possible. If they, in their due diligence, have given us an A certificate, I will respect their point of view.
Personally, I would want every citizen of this country to watch my film.” About Kesari 2 Kesari Chapter 2 is based on The Case That Shook the Empire, co-authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. The film is about C Sankaran Nair’s battle against British rule after General Dyer opened fire at innocent people celebrating Baisakhi at the Jallianwala Bagh.
