LAUTOKA City Council CEO Mohammed Anees Khan has resigned.Mr Khan tendered his resignation earlier this month and has returned to New Zealand.The resignation was confirmed by the Ministry of Local Government yesterday.
Lautoka Ratepayers and Residents Association president Narayan Reddy acknowledged Mr Khan’s contribution to the development of the Sugar City over the last five years.“He is one guy that you actually saw doing something,” Mr Reddy said.“We thank him for his service to the city of Lautoka and for what he has done to bring Lautoka to what it is today.
“He took on the role during a very difficult time for the city when we lost Mr (Jone) Nakauvadra and then we had COVID.”Mr Reddy said he hoped to work with similar individuals in future.“We can only hope to have people like Mr Khan in the council and we hope that we can work together with the next CEO.
