GaadiWaadi -The XUV300’s facelifted version could gain not one but two electrified variants, both aimed at different sets of eco-conscious customersThe Mahindra XUV 3XO could be the brand’s first model available with two different electrified variants. The company is working on a pure electric variant and evaluating even a full hybrid (strong hybrid) variant. Between the two electrified variants, the zero-emission one seems to have already been approved for launch.

Mahindra has been testing prototypes of the XUV 3XO EV with light camouflage on public roads for several months now and could launch it by June.Spy shots suggest the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will have only minor design changes over the donor model. We expect the zero-emission model to feature a new grille that improves aerodynamic efficiency, a distinctive front bumper, and unique alloy wheels, also for reduced drag.

The interior of the XUV 3XO EV should look almost entirely the same, save for a distinctive colour scheme. The digital instrument cluster and infotainment system may have slightly different software that includes estimated range, charging locations, scheduled charging, and other EV-specific functions. Also Read: Mahindra Thar 3-Door Variants Reshuffled, 8 Trims discontinued – DetailsSource: TeamBHPMahindra will almost certainly launch the XUV 3XO EV exclusively in a single-motor front-wheel drive variant.

There’s no word on the power or torque, though. According to a report from Autocar India, the company will use a battery with an energy storage capacity of 35 kWh in the new entry-level EV. We think that’d be enough to cover a distance of around 400 km on a full charge.

Seeing a growing demand for hybrid SUVs, Mahindra is looking at even an XUV 3XO Hybrid, codenamed S226, as per another Autocar India report. The company could employ the regular XUV 3XO’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which it offers in multipoint fuel injection and direct injection configurations.

Mahindra could introduce the XUV 3XO Hybrid sometime in 2026, about a year after the XUV 3XO EV.

The company is also mulling range-extender or EREV variants of the recently launched BE 6 and XEV 9e, which so far have been claimed to be based on EV-only platforms. The post Mahindra To Likely Launch XUV 3XO In Electric & Hybrid Variants appeared first on Gaadiwaadi.com - Latest Car & Bike News by Team GaadiWaadi.
