Manchester United’s own player might not be in the best form of their lives by any stretch of imagination but their loanees continue to impress to varying degrees. From Marcus Rashford doing well at PSG to Antony blowing past expectations at Real Betis, the two senior players form just the tip of the iceberg.Tyrell Malacia is encouraging at PSV, while in the youth circuit, the likes of Ethan Williams and more are getting precious first-team minutes.

Amidst the many success stories, Man Utd have been told that one of their loanees has been so good he’s effectively been “born again”. Ruben Amorim has already addressed this, saying that the pressure at United is unlike anywhere else and if they were good enough to succeed at United, they wouldn’t be elsewhere in the first place.

But what about a loanee who’s arguably doing it at a bigger stage than United are a part of and against a calibre of opposition higher than United have faced recently? That’s the uncomfortable question posed by Joe Cole on TNT Sports where he praised Marcus Rashford for his impact against PSG. Cole said: “Marcus Rashford’s been born again. That’s what we want to see.

The story of the season is Unai Emery and how he’s managed this competition. “The signings they made in January, the resurgence of Rashford, who was brilliant tonight. The club’s just going in the right direction.

”Clarence Seedorf’s Man Utd rant about Marcus RashfordClarence Seedorf spoke on Prime Video after Rashford did well vs PSG and his comments were even more stark than Cole’s, as he attacked United directly. Missing the overall point of Rashford’s history at United, he launched a scathing attack on how the club failed the player. Seedorf said: “I don’t think anybody needed to see him now how he plays, I mean Rashford is a great talent! It’s probably more the club has to pull themselves together to understand how to you know value these players.

“I’ve been criticising from afar, I mean if you have somebody like him on the team how can you not make him feel important enough to make the difference for you?“Here he is getting the love, so if Man Utd wants to bring him back, they will definitely need to make sure he will feel important.”Firstly, not many would think that United wants him back because form and success is not directly transferable from one club to another. Secondly, the narrative that United didn’t support Rashford when multiple managers were accommodating him, even Amorim at the start, is just plainly untrue.

Rashford doing well for Villa bodes well for United too, if only so that they can get rid of the strays they catch when the player is even slightly good in a game..
