Harry Judd has revealed the secret weapon he has been using as his body recovers from running the London Marathon . The McFly drummer, 39, completed the 26-mile route around the capital in 3hr 15.20 minutes despite hot conditions on Sunday.
Taking to Instagram the day after, he uploaded a photo showing him proudly showing off his medal while laying in bed and wearing special compression boots. The impressive-looking black padded accessories covered his feet up to his waist and are meant to provide air compression massage that helps legs to feel refreshed faster. Describing them as a “ recovery cheat code” they come at a price - £1000 to be exact.
He penned: "I absolute LOVE these compression boots! Especially after yesterday! Recovery cheat code! "I’ll be wearing the medal most of the week." The It’s All About You hit-maker ran the marathon on behalf of charity Children's Trust. Giving an update afterwards, he admitted that found the experience of running in the heat “brutal”.
Alongside a picture that showed him in an orange vest with sweat beads rolling down his face, he told his 668k followers: "Wow that was brutal! The heat was intense. "I knew at around 14k the sub 3 wasn’t happening. I went through half way at 1:30 and then the second half was one hell of a grind.
"I was running with my eyes closed at certain points! Definitely the hardest of the six marathons I’ve done. "Thinking of Children's Trust during the difficult times and all of you that have donated helped pull me through too." Judd then went on to praise his wife Izzy "for supporting me all the way as always".
She will be counting on his support next as she launches new podcast Let's Talk Neurodivergent Kids with Izzy Judd. The author, musician and mother will welcome a range of expert guests to discuss what it is to parent and care for neurodivergent children. The podcast aims to help those in a position of care feel less alone, more confident and supported with a community of others navigating those aspects of parenting that aren't often taught.
