— Syracuse.com ‘s All-CNY boys indoor track team features 21 all-stars who shone during the 2024-25 season. There are four boys indoor track athlete of the year finalists: Nikita Domashenko of Fayetteville-Manlius, Camron Ingram of Cicero-North Syracuse, Ryan Rauber of Tully and Kevin Vigneault of Jamesville-DeWitt.
The winner will be revealed at syracuse.com ‘s | The Post Standard’s annual All-CNY Sports Awards presented by Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists . The show begins at 6 p.

Outdoor track Who inspires you? I’ve been most inspired by my upperclassmen when I was a freshman. They always helped me and pushed me to be my best.
They still keep in contact with me and cheer me on. What is your favorite memory from this season? Coming second at states. This was my first time having a fully healthy season and I proved to myself and others what I can do when at my best.
What is your favorite quote from your favorite sports movie? “You’re gonna eat lightnin’ and you’re gonna crap thunder!” from “Rocky.” I love this line because I find it funny and it could be applied to track. Eat lightning, you’re going to run fast.

Running with my teammates at practice. Outdoor track season Who inspires you? I would say all my former and current teammates inspire me to be better every day. Some specific people are Dante Melfi, Kate Putman, Joey Masset, and Logan Rhody. Also, my sister Sophia.
What is your favorite memory from this season? The trip to the Ocean Breeze Invite with the 4-by-8 was great. We played poker all day, waiting for our race at 8 p.m.

He’s had a few movies about him, so I’m sure he said that in one of them. If you could have any fictional character as your teammate in your sport, who would it be? I would say Ted.

Outdoor track Who inspires you? My parents have inspired me to do track because they were determined student athletes and I am on the path to do the same. What is your favorite memory from this season? When I achieved a 3-second personal record in the 1000 meters at states.

Going on college visits and finding where I will be running track for the next four years. Who inspires you? Grant Holloway has inspired me the most because he shows that hard work always pays off. Breaking the all-time state record for the 55-hurdles and the 60-hurdles because I’ve been working towards it for three years and it felt like a huge accomplishment What is your favorite quote from your favorite sports movie? “I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit.

He is the reason I am able to take to the pole vault runway with utmost confidence, and the reason I am blessed with the opportunity to compete in the first place. What is your favorite memory from this season? My first time clearing the state standard (13 feet) while competing at Nazareth. The reason this was so special is because I happened to be competing against many of the Section V pole vaulters, whom I practice with at Next Step Vault Club in Rochester.
The Nazareth vault coach, Zach Ferrara, and my club coach, Alex Curran, also happened to be spectating. Both of them have played vital roles in my development as a pole vaulter, so having both of them there meant a lot to me. What is your favorite quote from your favorite sports movie? “Tonight, I walk with my brothers.
“ — “The Iron Claw.” Not only does this quote emphasize the love I have for my blood brothers, but also for my brothers that I have on the pole vault runway. One of the main reasons I love my sport is because of the community and lifelong friends I have gained.
Pole vaulting is a sport like no other, and all vaulters respect each other because of its nature. If you could have any fictional character as your teammate in your sport, who would it be? Gru from “Despicable Me” because he pole vaults over the wall of Vector’s lair to gain access. A villain putting pole vault power to work.

The annual Ocean Breeze Invitational where I had a big personal record of 51.3 in the 400 meters, where I was able to celebrate with my team after. ” If you could have any fictional character as your teammate in your sport, who would it be? Spider-Man due to his determination and his never-give-up mentality. My father, because he has always been there to support me.
What is your favorite memory from this season? The state championships, because I have never been to Staten Island before and I loved the entire experience. Outdoor track Who inspires you? Pete Moore has inspired me the most in my sport for always representing his athletes.
He told us last year that the thing he wants most is to see us succeed and medal at states, and this pushed me to do my best. After being injured all cross country season, I didn’t know what to do. Pete was always there for me and he got me back to where I needed to be, both physically and mentally.
He is always at meets cheering and hyping me up for my race, and I couldn’t do it without him. After rolling my ankle the day before states, he was at Ocean Breeze and told me that no matter what happens, he’ll still be there and I need to show everyone who I am. What is your favorite memory from this season? My favorite memory from this season was going to states and sitting with Owen Johnson and Aubrey Greene on the bus ride down to Staten Island.
What is your favorite quote from your favorite sports movie? From “Rocky III” when Apollo Creed tells Rocky that “there is no tomorrow.” I listen to this before every race, and it inspires me to perform my best because it all comes down to what you do that day. If you could have any fictional character as your teammate in your sport, who would it be? A-Train from season one of “The Boys” because that’s when he’s in his peak.

He was a track and field sprinter at the University of Brockport, and I needed to make sure that as the only child, my bloodline would not be forgotten at my high school. What is your favorite memory from this season? Making states with my last throw at state qualifiers.
Last year, I made it to states on my last throw, and broke my leg two days after, ending both my indoor and outdoor seasons. Making it to states on the last throw once more made returning come full circle for me, and pushed me to my limits.
