Miss Universe Organization has distanced itself from the legal issues surrounding its owner and operator, JKN Global Group Public Company Limited (JKN), led by CEO Anne Jakrajutatip. In a statement released earlier this week, MUO reaffirmed its independence and stated "non-involvement" in JNK's legal proceedings. "The Miss Universe Organization operates as an autonomous entity with its own leadership, management, and strategic direction.

MUO remains fully committed to its mission of empowering women to realize their potential and to using its global platform to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and leadership," it said. In January last year, Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) concluded that "public statements made by JKN regarding the sale of MUO to new investors from Mexico contained inaccuracies that could potentially mislead investors." Jakrajutatip meanwhile said there was no intention of misleading.

JNK is set to appeal the SEC's decision. MUO said it is not a party to the investigation or appeal, and has not been implicated in any wrongdoing. "The organization continues to operate independently, guided by its own governance and corporate ethics.

Our core values of empowerment, integrity, and inclusivity continue to guide everything we do," it said. "We want to reassure our partners, titleholders, fans, and global community that 'MUO remains focused on its mission and is unaffected by external legal matters involving third parties.'" —JCB, GMA Integrated News.
