Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s runtime has been revealed, and the epic length makes it the longest movie in the franchise. A direct sequel to Dead Reckoning, the film sees Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt teaming up with various Mission: Impossible alumni to do battle with The Entity , which involves finding the Russian submarine that contains the AI’s source code.

Indeed, a quick look at all eight movies shows that almost every Mission: Impossible movie is longer than the film that preceded it, with only Rogue Nation ruining that run. That near three-hour runtime is doubtless to give everyone in the ensemble a chance to shine, as individual character posters were released this week, and there’s 18 major players in this instalment, not counting Cruise.
