Qatar tribune QNA Doha The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), represented by the Department of Human Rights, in cooperation with the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region, organised a preparatory workshop ahead of the discussion of Qatar’s combined 5th and 6th national reports before the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), scheduled to take place in Geneva from May 21 to 22. Representatives of relevant government agencies participated in the workshop as part of Qatar’s efforts to enhance institutional readiness for the national report’s presentation before the UN panel of experts. Acting Director of the Department of Human Rights at MoFA, Sara Al Saadi, emphasised that this workshop reflects the State of Qatar’s commitment to promoting and protecting children’s rights.
She noted that it also aims to present a comprehensive and transparent overview of national efforts in this field to the international community. She indicated that this initiative is part of MoFA’s broader commitment—represented by the Department of Human Rights—to highlighting the progress achieved by the State of Qatar in the area of human rights, particularly children’s rights. It also aims to constructively address existing challenges, underscoring Qatar’s approach rooted in transparency and cooperation with relevant international mechanisms.
