Seeks support for Tinubu, Shettima administrationBy Austine Agbo Emmanuel, KadunaFormer Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Danjuma Tella La’ah, has said his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was a strategic move aimed at accelerating development in Southern Kaduna.Speaking during a thanksgiving and house dedication event in his hometown, Tum-Kagoro in Kaura Local Government Area, La’ah said the region must align with the federal government to attract greater attention and infrastructural investments.According to him, “My decision to join the APC is driven purely by the interest of Southern Kaduna.



We cannot remain on the sidelines. To bring development home, we must be part of the national conversation and align with the centre.”Senator La’ah who used the occasion to call on the people of Southern Kaduna to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, said that their administration offers a renewed opportunity for unity and national integration.

“President Tinubu means well for the country. We must work with his administration to ensure our region benefits from federal programmes and projects,” he added.La’ah, who broke the one-term jinx in Southern Kaduna and served two terms in the National Assembly, is widely credited with initiating key developmental projects in education, healthcare, rural electrification, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

He established a NOUN study centre in Kagoro, sponsored the bill for the University of Science and Technology, Manchok, built police schools, constructed primary health centres, and facilitated federal employment opportunities for youths across the zone.The event, which also marked a civic reception in honour of the former senator’s tenure from 2015 to 2023, drew prominent personalities including the representative of Kaduna State governor, Hon. Ado Audu; former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Samaila Yakawada; Rep.

Magaji Amos Gwamna (Zango/Jaba); former NNPC GMD, Engr. Andrew Yakubu; and Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi.Traditional rulers present included the Chief of Kagoro, HRH Ufuwai Bonet, and the Emir of Jema’a, HRH Isa Mohammed.
