ISLAMABAD - The government is contemplating summoning the National Assembly session soon to unanimously pass a resolution condemning India’s attempt to link Pakistan to the deadly attack in India-held Kashmir earlier this week. The National Security Committee (NSC) and parliamentary political bodies have asked India to “refrain from its reflexive blame game and cynical and exploitation of incidents like Pahalgam to further its narrow political agenda”. India was condemned, in resolutions passed by the upper house and the parliamentary bodies, for declaration of unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the downgrading of diplomatic relations, deeming these actions as a serious provocation.

The resolution , passed in the Senate moved by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, stated that Pakistan remains fully capable and prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression including water terrorism or military provocation. It was emphasised that the killing of innocent civilians is contrary to the values upheld by Pakistan, according to the resolution. It may be mentioned that India has a long-standing tradition of falsely accusing Pakistan.

Like Pehalgam, India’s history of false-flag operations is open, extensive and disgraceful. In 2007, Pakistan was blamed for the Samjhauta Express tragedy that killed 68 people. Later, the investigations into Samjhauta Express revealed the involvement of Hindu extremists, includ-ing Major Ramesh as the key suspect.

In 2013, former CBI officer Satish Verma revealed that the Mumbai attacks were orchestrated by the Indian government itself. In 2019, 40 Indian soldiers were killed in the Pulwama attack, however, Pakistan was accused without sharing any evidence.

The Modi government immediately blamed Pakistan for the Pulwama attack without sharing any evidence. In 2023, Pakistan was also blamed for the killing of 5 Indian soldiers in Rajouri. The Rajouri attack was a plot to reinforce BJP’s anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim narrative.
