Nawazuddin Siddiqui was recently asked about the possibility of a third part of Gangs Of Wasseypur. Here’s what he said! Last month, a photo of Gangs Of Wasseypur actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Jaideep Ahlawat and Manoj Bajpayee went viral on social media, and it sparked speculations about whether the makers might be returning with a third instalment of the franchise. While there have been several rumours about the same, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has now set the record straight.
The actor, who played the iconic role of Faizal Khan in the film, has revealed that Gangs Of Wasseypur 3 is not happening. He said that neither will filmmaker Anurag Kashyap make it, nor will he act in it. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked about the rumours surrounding director Anurag Kashyap receiving offers to make Gangs Of Wasseypur 3 .
He said, “Anurag won’t make it. Neither will I act in it. I get such offers so much.
" He also said that he frequently receives many such offers, with people suggesting making a film solely centred around his character Faizal Khan. “People even tell me, ‘Lets take your character of Faizal Khan from Gangs and make a film on him,’" said Nawazuddin. Earlier, in an interview with The Lallantop, Anurag Kashyap was asked about the possibility of Gangs Of Wasseypur 3, but the filmmaker said that he is not interested in creating a Wasseypur universe.
He said that ‘businessmen’ have a different way of thinking, and that everything is being turned into a universe these days. However, he explained that he isn’t chasing that, and instead wants to make many different films and tell various different stories. Gangs Of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap, was released in two parts in 2012.
The film features Manoj Bajpayee as Sardar Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat as Shahid Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Faizal Khan. The cast also includes Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi and Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film went o to achieve a cult status, and has a massive fan following.
