New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll had Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston address the team and share their experiences on Monday.

The New York Giants offense will look a bit different this season, especially at quarterback. The team is going through a transition after signing free agents Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston last month.Wilson will be the starter, with Winston close behind as the primary backup.

Tommy DeVito will be back, and the team is angling to add a developmental player in the draft. But first things first. As the Giants began their nine-week voluntary offseason program at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center on Monday, head coach Brian Daboll asked the duo to address the team and introduce themselves.

"Russell has been doing this for a long time, as has Jameis," Daboll told reporters. "Both of those guys, I asked them to get up this morning in front of the offense and talk a little bit about their story, kind of where they came from and who is important to them in their life and what's important to them in this game, and they both did a great job."It's really early in the process, but they understand what leadership is.

They've done it in a number of places; I expect them to do that here."Wilson told the media afterward he was appreciative to have the opportunity to meet and speak with his new teammates. "First of all, it's exciting to be here.

Obviously to have the guys, sharing the locker room, to be able to be in the team meeting room with the guys, the QB room, just to be on the field with the guys getting work and being in the weight room and all that stuff that makes it exciting and that we're playing ball again. That part I love," he said."Dabs ran a great meeting today.

He introduced everybody, from the coaches to everybody else, from the new players as well. Obviously, with me being one of them. Just to be able to go up there and talk to the guys about kind of where I come from and just my story a little bit and just the focus of it all and what we want to accomplish individually, but also this year.

"I'm excited to be with these guys. I'm excited to have the opportunity to play and be a New York Giant. What an opportunity it is.

We can make it really special. I think we have the right guys with a lot of hard work, guys that are focused on the details of it all. Like I said, I’m excited to be here.

"Wilson and Winston come from different places on the star quarterback spectrum. Wilson was a third round pick pick who blossomed into a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and a 10-time Pro Bowler. He is an established leader and a positive locker room presence.

Winston was a Heisman Trophy winner and National Champion at Florida State who went on to be the first overall selection in the 2016 NFL draft. His pro career has been a wild roller coaster ride. Now, at 31, Winston has also become a leader in the room with loads of experience and wisdom to impart on any young player willing to listen.
