New York Giants safety Tyler Nubin and TE Theo Johnson are each recovering from season-ending injuries and are ready to bounce back in Year 2.

The New York Giants' 2024 draft class revealed several potential stars other than wide receiver Malik Nabers. Among the other rookies that emerged are safety Tyler Nubin, the team's second-round pick, and their fourth-round pick, tight end Theo Johnson. Both Nubin and Johnson had their seasons cut short by injury.

Nubin was felled by a high ankle sprain while Johnson suffered the dreaded Lisfranc foot fracture. As Giants Wire previously noted, "Nubin played every defensive snap in 11 of the Giants' first 12 games. Despite missing the last four games, Nubin finished second on the team in total tackles (98) and led all NFL rookie defenders in total tackles as well.

"Johnson also played in 12 games as a rookie last season, starting 11. He reeled in 29 of 43 targets for 331 yards with 16 first downs and a touchdown. The two second-year players showed up for the first day of the Giants' offseason workout program on Monday and both had positive news regarding their health.

"I'm doing good. I'm getting better every single day," said Nubin of his ankle rehab. "The staff has been amazing, the training staff, getting me back to feeling good.

Definitely getting better every day."Surgery went great. The doctors that did it, they handled it really great, and the training staff has been really good with the recovery process, rehab process as well.

"Since Phase One of the offseason program does not include any drills, Nubin will continue rehabbing but Johnson has been running for awhile and even took part in passing drills with new quarterback Russell Wilson this offseason down in Atlanta. "I'm feeling good," Johnson said. "We're taking it a day at a time.

Like I said, I'm getting better every day, and I like where I'm at right now."The Giants will surely bring both back slowly as to get them ramped up for training camp in July but both appear to be well on their way to taking the next steps in their careers. "It's really cool to know what to expect and kind of have my feet under me this year and not being a rookie and feeling like everything is kind of coming at me at a million miles an hour," Johnson said.

"It's really great to start from the beginning of the offseason program as well."Nubin had a similar sentiment to being a second year player as opposed to a green rookie. "Definitely a lot more comfortable than coming in like a rookie with his head cut off not really knowing what's going on, kind of just running around trying to figure it out," he said.
