New York Knicks News: Tom Thibodeau calls out the refs in Game 2 New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau pleaded for consistency from the officials during Game 2 against the Detroit Pistons . The two-time NBA Coach of the Year felt that Jalen Brunson wasn’t getting the same calls Cade Cunningham received. “I don’t understand how on one side you talk about direct line drives.
The guy is getting fouled and it’s not being called,” Thibodeau said via The Associated Press. “And look, I don’t really give a crap how they call the game, as long as it’s consistent on both sides. So, if Cunningham is driving and there is marginal contact and he is getting to the line, then Jalen deserves to be getting to the line.
It’s really that simple.” New York only had 19 free throw attempts compared to 34 from Detroit. Cunningham shot 10-for-12 from the charity stripe en route to finishing with 33 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
