North has been unable to stop one of their rising stars from copping a hefty ban for a hard tackle that resulted in Josh Sinn being concussed.

North Melbourne star Paul Curtis has failed in his bid to have a three-match suspension overturned for rough conduct at the AFL Tribunal after Power player Josh Sinn was concussed. Curtis tackled the Port Adelaide defender in the second quarter of the Kangaroos’ nine-point loss, pinning his opponent’s arms from behind. With Sinn suffering a concussion, Curtis’s tackle was graded as severe impact, high contact and careless conduct.

The forward will now miss games against Essendon, Brisbane and Richmond. Curtis, enjoying a rich vein of form, starred against Port with three goals and boasts 18 so far this season for the 17th-placed North. More to come.
