Excelsior CorrespondentSrinagar, Apr 29: While stressing that terrorism has no religion, Grand Mufti J&K Nasir-ul-Islam today said that Muslims believe shedding the blood of one person is akin to killing all of humanity.Addressing a press conference here, the Grand Mufti pointed out that tourists have always been treated with respect and dignity by the people of Kashmir, a tradition that, he said, continues to this day.Click here to watch video“The entire world is watching, and terrorism has no religion.

Religion always teaches humanity; as Muslims, we believe that shedding the blood of one human being is equivalent to killing all of humanity,” he said.He also mentioned that the Pahalgam incident raises many questions and emphasized the need to highlight the efforts of people who helped the injured without considering their own safety. He added, “tourists who visit Kashmir are treated with respect and dignity by Kashmiri Muslims.

Despite facing unemployment issues since 1990, Kashmiris have never begged for food. The situation remains the same today.”“The individuals who helped the injured didn’t ask about their religion; they just came forward to assist.

Many lives were saved due to their efforts.”Nasir-ul-Islam criticized national media for “often promoting a hate agenda”, portraying the incident as “a Hindu-Muslim issue and linking terrorism to Kashmir.”This, he said, created “a wall of hatred”, leading to Kashmiris being targeted in states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bhopal, Haryana and Mumbai.

He reaffirmed, however, that the reality on the ground in Kashmir is different.“We want to promote love, not hatred. We don’t want fathers to be punished for their sons’ mistakes, nor do we want entire communities to be blamed for the actions of one individual,” he added.

The Grand Mufti stressed: “We request you to keep your hearts and doors open for us. We are responsible for your safety, and you are responsible for the safety of our children. Let’s work together to prevent hatred from spreading in the valley.

”He also urged people of Kashmir to support local shopkeepers instead of turning to online shopping, so that the local economy can thrive. The post Pahalgam attack akin to killing of humanity: Grand Mufti appeared first on Daily Excelsior..
