Park Seo-joon recently took to social media to share a heartfelt handwritten note from the family of a young patient who had just undergone brain tumour surgery — a life-saving procedure made possible by his donation. Alongside a screenshot of the letter, Seo-joon shared his own thoughts, “I’m once again determined to live my life diligently. I hope we meet after you have recovered and are in good health.
” The actor’s post has since gone viral, with fans praising not only his generosity but also his sincerity and grace. In their handwritten note, the child’s family recounted the heartbreaking journey that began with a devastating diagnosis in January 2024. They spoke of being emotionally shattered and financially helpless, uncertain how they would ever afford the complex treatments needed to save their child’s life.
“We thought only our family was cursed. We were in deep despair,” the parent wrote. Seo-joon’s donation helped cover the costs of a hematopoietic stem cell transplant, a crucial procedure that allowed the medical team to continue with further treatment.
The family described it as a ‘ray of hope.’ “After successfully completing the first transplant, hope has begun to return. We now believe that our child, who has already grown stronger, will endure the journey ahead.
” The parent shared that their child is steadily recovering and preparing for the next phase of treatment. In a touching moment, they revealed how they told their child about Park Seo-joon’s act of kindness. “For the first time in a long time, our child smiled.
They said they now want to become famous too — not for fame, but so they can meet Park and thank him in person.” Seo-joon also shared a separate letter from Seoul Samsung Hospital, which confirmed that his donation directly funded the child’s surgery. The hospital expressed its gratitude in poetic words: “You are like spring itself — giving someone the courage to stand up again and hope to live on.
” On the professional front, the actor is set to make a return to rom-com with JTBC’s Waiting for Gyeong-do. The series will follow journalist Lee Gyeong-do as he navigates love, second chances, and the bittersweet pull of the past. He stars opposite Squid Game 2’s Won Ji An, who has been offered the role of Seo Ji Woo — his former flame in the drama.
