Pete Davidson is sharing an update on his tattoo removal process. Over the years, the 31-year-old actor and comedian accumulated more than 200 tattoos, but has decided to get rid of almost all of them. In a new interview, Pete shared the “horrible” timeline to remove his tattoos.

“I started during COVID in 2020, and it’s gonna take me another 10 years,” Pete shared with Variety . “My arms are pretty much gone, and my hands and neck are gone,” he explained, adding that he still has to remove the ink on his torso and back, a process he described as “pretty horrible.” “It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer, and then you gotta do maintenance and let it heal properly,” Pete said.
“And it’s pretty tough. It sucks. I’m not gonna lie.
” The Saturday Night Live alum also admitted that he “wasn’t taking care of” himself during the time he was still getting tattoos. “I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” Pete candidly shared. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure.
” He then went on to share that “starting fresh” by removing his tattoos makes the most sense for him right now. “When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of, ‘Oh yeah, you were a f–king drug addict. Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back,’” Pete said.
“They should have meaning. Not just that I was high watching Game of Thrones .” In another recent interview, Pete revealed how many of his tattoos he plans on keeping .
