After being accused of taking too much creative liberty while telling the story of the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the makers of Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh have yet again come under fire for plagiarising a peot’s poem on the 1919 massacre. Poet and lyricist Yahya Bootwala recently took to his official social media handle to accuse the writer of the Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan starrer, Sumit Saxena, of copying a few lines of his poem which was made five years ago. A post shared by Yahya Bootwala (@yahyabootwala) Sharing a side-by-side video of comparing his poem to the dialogues said by Ananya Panday’s character in the film, he claimed that the dialogues have been lifted from his poem word-to-word.

The poem was published on the YouTube channel UnErase Poetry, five years ago. He shared the video on Instagram and penned a strongly worded caption. He wrote, “So @nisoooooooooorg sent me a clip 4 days back from the movie Kesari 2 of dialogues he felt were copied from my poem, titled Jallianwala Bagh, published 5 years ago on @unerasepoetry YouTube channel.

Here are the two clips and honestly, this is a clear copy-paste.” SEE ALSO: Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sardar Udham Was A Guiding Light For Me’ Reveals Kesari Chapter 2 Director Bootwala went on to add that the makers have not even tried to hide it well, “phusphusana jaisa shabd bhi uthaya hai.” While he agrees that people can have similar thoughts on a particular topic, he added that writing the same lines on the topic is “anything but a coincidence.

” Openly criticising Sumit, he further wrote, “As writers, the worst thing you can do to a fellow writer is pick their material up, blatantly use it without giving credits and this is what I feel dialogue writer @sumit.saxena.35912 has done here.

” A post shared by Dharma Productions (@dharmamovies) Resharing the video on his Instagram story, he tagged the makers of Kesari Chapter 2 and wrote, “I'm sure you know this, the worse you can do as a writer is steal some other writer's work without crediting them for it.” It is to be noted that the makers of the historical courtroom drama have yet to issue a clarification on the matter.
