Police in stand-off with driver after car driven onto Claremont jetty

A man has driven a Jeep off a jetty during a lengthy stand-off with police in Claremont, Perth. A number of police resources including police air wing and water police were sent to the scene on Wednesday morning, and officers had been negotiating with the man. About 11.

50am, 7NEWS captured the car reversing further down the jetty before it was put back into drive. The man fled back onto the overturned car, where he is currently sitting, talking with police.



The vehicle is understood to have been involved in an earlier collision. The public have been told to avoid the area. - More to come .
