Introducing Project UFO, a new Netflix series you can easily binge in one night. The debate about whether UFOs are real is almost a tale as old as time. True crime docuseries have been exploring the pros and cons for years, and that’s long after shows like The X Files came along.
But what if an important figure in your home country told you they’d seen one via national television, and the entire nation’s opinion was split right down the middle as a result? That’s the basic premise of new Netflix limited series Project UFO – here’s everything you need to know about it. What is Project UFO about? As you might have guessed from the name, Project UFO is about the sighting of an unidentified flying object, splitting an entire country’s beliefs in half. As Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “After an alleged UFO landing, a TV star and an enthusiast investigate the extraterrestrial beings’ origins, debating their theories as a politician exploits the paranormal activity.
” However, this isn’t to be confused with Top Secret UFO Projects Declassified – which is also on the streaming service – and Project U.F.O.
, the TV show from 1978. It goes without saying that none of these are the same show, with the Netflix version we’re interested in actually being a Polish language series. Viewers can watch either with subtitles or an English dubbed voiceover (or both, if you’re feeling fancy).
How many episodes are there? Much like most limited series on the streaming service, Project UFO has four episodes that are 50 minutes a piece. DMTalkes wrote , “Project UFO is inoffensive enough to give it a watch. That said, if you are going into it expecting to see aliens, I’m going to stop you right there and turn you towards sci-fi shows like X-Files, Love Death & Robots, and The Twilight Zone.” The Midgard Times called it “Visually interesting, narratively uninteresting,” while K Waves and Beyond a dded it is a “Confusing mix of politics, drama, and half-baked Sci-Fi.
” They continued, “I thought the Project UFO series had potential, but it didn’t live up to it. The concept was interesting, and there were individual moments with some substance, particularly when it broached the subject of personal pain and ambition, and how people lie to themselves and others. “But the narrative was too elaborate, and the payoff was not gratifying.
It left me feeling more confused than curious, and I’m still not certain if the aliens were ever real or just a big metaphor.” Project UFO is streaming on Netflix now.
