Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) has announced its eagerly awaited concert, ‘Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1’. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at the Katara Cultural Village Opera House, commencing at 7:30 pm.
The remarkable concert will feature exceptional classical music under the direction of conductor Michalis Economou, a prominent figure in the Greek music scene known for his dynamic contributions as a conductor, composer, and educator. Economou serves as the Music Director of the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, has previously held the position of Music Director for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and is the Chief Conductor of the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has been the principal guest conductor for the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and has collaborated with over 40 symphony orchestras across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
The concert will also highlight the talents of the acclaimed violist Anastasiya Petryshak, recognized as the “European Personality in Classical Music.” She is celebrated for her impeccable intonation, exceptional technique, and profound musicality. The programme promises to be captivating, featuring masterpieces from renowned composers, including Verdi’s Overture: La Forza del Destino, Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.
