A 42-year-old man, Dinesh Mirania, resident of Raipur, was tragically killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam while celebrating his wedding anniversary. Mirania had travelled to Jammu and Kashmir on April 17 with his wife Neha, their 17-year-old son, and 16-year-old daughter. The family had planned the trip to celebrate their 20th anniversary scheduled on April 24.
He got struck by a bullet and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to injuries. The previous night, Dinesh had called a close friend to share that they had visited the Vaishno Devi Temple. Around 6 pm on Tuesday, it was revealed that Dinesh had been injured in the attack.
Later that night, authorities confirmed that he had passed away while receiving medical treatment. "I can't believe he’s gone. He had called me just the day before.
His son, who studies in another state, had come home to enjoy the holidays with the family,” a close friend of Mirania told The Indian Express. Mirania’s brother, Naresh, who lives nearby, quickly boarded a flight to Delhi at 9.30 pm and was set to travel to Jammu and Kashmir the next day.
Neighbour Dinesh Sharma expressed his shock, saying, “We are all shaken. They were such a kind family. Dinesh’s wife regularly visited our society's temple, and he was always focused on his work.
A good family like theirs has been destroyed in this tragedy.” According to several media reports, 26 people, mostly tourists, died and over 20 were injured in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday..
