Shares 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Remedy Entertainment , the studio well-known for cinematic single-player action titles like the Alan Wake franchise or 2016’s Quantum Break , has announced that its co-op shooter spin-off, FBC: Firebreak , based on the universe of 2019’s Control , will be released on 17 June 2025 . Dropping the news during a developer update live stream , Remedy also delved deeper into a few of the upcoming game’s missions (known as “Jobs”), such as “Paper Chase”, which was previously seen in its gameplay trailer, as well as another called “Hot Fix” which wasn’t shown prior. Post-launch support was also confirmed, with the announcement of two new Jobs arriving after its launch in 2025, with more updates to come in 2026.
According to the studio, all playable content released after the game’s launch will be free for all players. As a stark departure from the mind-bending third-person action adventure Control , FBC: Firebreak is a first-person multiplayer cooperative PvE experience where players tackle various replayable missions across the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) in teams of up to three, working together and utilising in-universe weapons and tools to complete objectives or environmental challenges. Unsurprisingly, as a multiplayer live-service title, the game will also have a battle pass-style system, which will include both free and paid tiers.
Its free tier, known as “Requisitions”, will include weapons, equipment, armour and sprays that can be earned simply by playing the game, while its paid “Classified Requisitions” tier will consist of additional armour sets, custom voice packs, sprays and weapon skins, with the studio assuring that these real-world currency purchases would not affect gameplay in any way. More information on its Requisitions system can be found via a post on its Steam page . FBC: Firebreak will be released on 17 June 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the game being available day one via Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Game catalogue (Extra and Premium).
