Valera, Sison and Zuñiga were among the few who were present at the intimate wake of Hajji, as seen in a video shared by singer-actor Carlo Orosa on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 23.

“The Hitmakers — Rey Valera , Marco Sison , and Nonoy Zuñiga — come together in a heartfelt tribute to their dear friend and fellow OPM legend, Hajji Alejandro. Through song, they honor the legacy of the one and only ‘Kilabot ng Kolehiyala,'” Orosa captioned his post, referring to Hajji’s moniker. Valera was playing the guitar and singing while Sison and Zuñiga stood beside him, also singing.

After their performance, the trio received applause from the people at the wake. Sison then turned to face Hajji’s urn and said, “We love you, pare.” Hajji succumbed to stage 4 colon cancer last April 21.

He was 70. His condition was first made public in March by his longtime partner, singer Alynna Velasquez, after photos of the late OPM singer from when he was hospitalized made rounds on social media. Hajji’s remains were reportedly cremated immediately, while his wake was held for a day with family and friends only.
