The India and MI batting giant pulled off a magnificent performance against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as he hammered an unbeaten 76 off 45 deliveries and helped his team ease past a tricky chase of 177.
As Rohit walked off the field with the crowd singing praises of his comeback innings, the Mumbai Indians’ social media team recorded a special clip of the batter walking up the stars to the dressing rooms. Rohit looked extremely pleased with his effort on the night and raised his bat to the crowd. A member of the MI social media team told him, ‘Played, Ro’, before the star player went up the stairs in his iconic walk.
Dominating the CSK pacers and spinners brutally, Rohit struck 4 fours and 6 sixes in his trademark effortless avatar. The dangerous right-hander was in the mood from the word go, taking a strong footing from the very first ball inside the powerplay. Rohit played the aggressor in a fantastic opening stand with wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton, who added 24 off 19 balls in the duo’s 63-run partnership.
Following this, Suryakumar Yadav joined hands with his former captain, and together they added 114 runs unbeaten for the second wicket.
