Qatar tribune QNA Seoul South Korea’s Acting President Han Duck-soo attended a concert by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) in Seoul, marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea. The event was organised by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in South Korea, in cooperation with the Goyang Culture Foundation. Under the baton of Maestro Wilson Ng and featuring world-renowned pianist Jae Hong Park, the orchestra performed a selection of international classical pieces, concluding with musical works inspired by Qatari heritage.
The concert was attended by several South Korean ministers and officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, business leaders, representatives of Korean companies, journalists, media professionals, and notable public figures from various sectors. The Qatari Embassy also hosted a photo exhibition in the reception hall of the National Theatre of Korea, showcasing Qatar’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and customs. The exhibition highlighted the country’s renaissance across various sectors, with a particular emphasis on culture and the arts.
The performance was met with high praise and drew a remarkable audience. Attendees expressed admiration for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s powerful and outstanding presentation. Aimed at strengthening cultural ties and fostering mutual understanding through music, the concert is part of a series of cultural events organised by the Qatari Embassy to commemorate 50 years of Qatar-Korea diplomatic relations.
