Q. What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?A. One of my most rewarding accomplishments throughout my high school career is to have the privilege of being at the top of my class at the Hazleton Area High School.

This achievement took much dedication to my studies but I could not have done it without the guidance of my teachers and the support of my family. I am thankful I had the opportunity to work alongside my motivated classmates and had the ability to foster lasting friendships which I truly value. Additionally, qualifying for the state track and field meet in the 400m my junior year was a significant highlight.

The constant work put into daily practices and having the chance to run with my teammates throughout the season made representing my school a truly rewarding experience.Gabriella BredbennerQ. What were your most rewarding school or community activities?A.

Some of the most rewarding community activities I took part in was during my time on the CAN DO Student Action Committee. I was given the chance to participate in CAN DO Community Christmas and the CAN DO Christmas tree lighting. These experiences allowed me to connect with local residents and gain a richer understanding of my community.

I also took part in Operation CAN DO which is a collection drive for veterans. It was rewarding to participate in an act of service for those who have given so much to our country. Similarly, my time in my school’s student council club has allowed me to foster stronger connections with my peers, whether through tutoring or participating in the meetings, and has broadened my understanding of my school’s environment.

Q. Do you have any hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?A. My hobbies include reading, hiking, and spending time with my friends.

My sister was the one who first sparked my reading habit which has become a big part of my life. I also enjoy hiking and riding my bike with my family on nature trails. Lastly, I love to hang out with my friends.

We usually go out to eat or end up playing soccer or tennis.Q. What are your plans after high school graduation? Why did you choose this path?A.

Following graduation, I’ll be attending Swarthmore College, where I’ll continue to compete in track and field while pursuing a biology degree. This academic path aligns with my long-term goal of attending medical school and specializing in oncology. The prospect of directly improving the lives of cancer patients, and contributing to the advancement of cancer treatments, is what motivates me.

I believe that through dedicated research and compassionate care, I can someday play a vital role in the fight against cancer.Q.
